"Baby Blues" is a profound tribute to the experiences of military personnel, created by the artist Emanuel Alvarez Valencia, a combat veteran himself. In this emotionally charged painting, a toddler with baby blue eyes stares earnestly at the viewer, wearing a Marine dress blues uniform. However, what sets this artwork apart is the Stars and Stripes delicately painted on the baby boy's face.
As an artist and former combat veteran, I have personally experienced the intricacies of military life and the challenges it presents. Through my art, I strive to find peace and therapy, channeling my own experiences to create a platform that enables other veterans to do the same.

Emanuel Alvarez Valencia is a remarkable individual, whose life journey has been characterized by resilience and unwavering determination. Born in Zamora Michoacan, Mexico, in 1981, Emanuel immigrated to the United States at the tender age of four years old. Faced with uncertainty and forced to deal with racism, abuse, and workplace exploitation as a young boy, Emanuel Alvarez Valencia's indomitable spirit is a prime example of what overcoming adversity is about. Emanuel's pursuit of the American dream took an unexpected turn when the attacks of 9-11-2001 unfolded.
