In my latest painting entitled "Fly Boy", I aim to provoke thought and reflection through the powerful juxtaposition of elements. This realism portrait depicts a toddler child donned in World War II era Pilot's gear, presenting a captivating contrast against the child's fair complexion, blue eyes, and strawberry blonde hair, delicately captured in fine details that infuse the artwork with flair and vibrancy.
The background showcases the American flag waving proudly, imbued with an Americana style that evokes strong feelings of patriotism. However, this painting delves deeper, urging viewers to contemplate our society's values and the weight we place on our choices, particularly in relation to the future of our children.

Emanuel Alvarez Valencia is a remarkable individual, whose life journey has been characterized by resilience and unwavering determination. Born in Zamora Michoacan, Mexico, in 1981, Emanuel immigrated to the United States at the tender age of four years old. Faced with uncertainty and forced to deal with racism, abuse, and workplace exploitation as a young boy, Emanuel Alvarez Valencia's indomitable spirit is a prime example of what overcoming adversity is about. Emanuel's pursuit of the American dream took an unexpected turn when the attacks of 9-11-2001 unfolded.
